Pen & Ink, Watercolor
Sitting under a tree, reading a book, wearing an old-fashioned dress. Mmm--three things I love!
I started this picture a while ago, but once I got to the watercoloring stage I discovered the paper was so old that the watercolor went on in a spotted, speckled sort of way. Demotivational for sure!
By the way, If you're in the mood for some old-fashioned end-of-summer reading, be sure to check out Booth Tarkington's hilarious 1915 novel, Seventeen: A Tale of Youth and Summer Time and the Baxter Family, Especially William.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being Pick of the Week. Your illustrations are absolutely beautiful! Sadly these days this girl would more likely have her iPhone and be posting something on Facebook. There's just no replacement for a good book in my mind.
