The Little Dressmaker (if: Forward)

Pencil with digital color

The Footman and the Little Dressmaker from Eleanor Farjeon's story, "The Little Dressmaker." Here she models the Duchess's sunbeam gown--but she must look forward to tomorrow's ball and hurry home to finish the next dress!

This is my first Illustration Friday post for 2012.

  1. I love her curtsy, and her dress! It's so nice when people dress their characters really carefully and with details. I also like the hint of floor tiles.

  2. Love this! Love the costumes. Really great style and characters. I also love the idea of collected IF entries! I may have to figure out how to do that. :)

  3. Thank you! I love costume design (my other business is designing vintage-style sewing patterns) so that often comes through in my characters' clothes. :)

Cindy, I explained how I did the collected IF entries in the comments on my 2010 entries: http://blog.amandakastner.com/2010/12/year-of-illustration-friday-2010.html It does give you a sense of accomplishment to see all of the thumbnails in one place!
